Upon completion of Winston-Salem State University?s Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling program, students will retain the necessary academic credentials required for the CRC exam and demonstrate background knowledge and understanding of the rehabilitation process based on a holistic/comprehensive service-to-people with disabilities concept. They will also demonstrate the ability to assess, analyze, plan, and implement the facilitation of services to people with disabilities in the community. Students will gain the ability to utilize technology to assess and implement appropriate services and demonstrate appropriate communication concepts and skills in counseling activities and be able to establish an effective counseling relationship with individuals and groups. Students will also demonstrate ethical, professional behavior that upholds a sound, consumer-oriented philosophy and facilitate interactions with consumers that exemplify multicultural understanding and respect for diversity.
