Utica College's Financial Crimes Investigator Certificate is a six course certificate program designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully identify and fight financial crimes. Developed by Utica College Economic Crime faculty in consultation with the Training and Education Committee of the International Association of Financial Crime Investigators, the Financial Crimes Investigator certificate is a fourth option offered in the suite of nationally recognized Economic Crime programs at Utica College. Students receive college credit for the program which can be transferred into the Bachelor?s degree in Economic Crime Investigation. The curriculum includes courses in criminal justice, information security, economic crime, fraud prevention and detection and forensic accounting. Utica College's criminal justice-economic crime investigation major is the first academic program of its kind. It combines the study of criminal justice with that of accounting and computer science to provide future practitioners with an understanding of the evolving problems of fraud, corporate crime, and computer crime.
