The IT Security Management specialization focuses on security assessment, security planning, and effective and rapid response to security breaches. These courses will enable students to compare basic organizational security concepts to a company's current security posture to determine the security gap; apply basic technical security concepts to the current state of security within an organization using a layered security model; develop a risk management plan for an organization; and develop a disaster recovery plan that enables a company to recover rapidly and implement lessons learned from previous disasters as improvements to the plan. The central focus of this program is for general managers whose responsibilities encompass corporate security and information risk management as well as those working as (or who aspire to be) chief security officers. This degree specialization also will appeal to compliance specialists, enterprise security managers and administrators, data security analysts and IS professionals who seek career advancement in upper management. 36 credit hours are required to complete this degree program.
