Understanding how adults learn, the evolution of higher education, and leadership strategies for success are essential to leaders who intend to shape the future of high education. The JIU Master of Education degree in Higher Education Leadership and Administration is designed to help students become familiar with relevant literature and apply theory to the practice of leadership. Those who intend to lead and inspire institutions of higher learning should enroll, including people who work in community colleges and universities; those who shape and implement public policy at the local, state, and federal levels; entrepreneurs who work as consultants to higher education organizations; and business leaders who develop working connections with institutions of higher learning. 36 credit hours are required for graduation.
