The George Washington University master?s distance learning program is specifically structured for the working educational professional. This MA program prepares you to effectively work in today?s dynamic and complex educational environment. The core curriculum of the program consists of 10 courses for a total of 33 credits, and can be completed in 22 months. Students take two courses per semester for five semesters, and each course is approximately 8 weeks in length. The curriculum has been carefully designed to address the current issues faced by educational leaders. GW has adopted the standards developed by the Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC). ELCC standards balance the political, managerial, and instructional roles of principals, and require that GW shows performance-based evidence that our curriculum and internship experiences meet the standards.
