The changing nature and complexity of Information Systems design and development requires keeping your skills up-to-date. Because software engineering and Web development are now critical components of Information Systems, a blended degree in Software Development from Champlain College will get you ready - on day one - to go into an organization and be productive. As a Champlain graduate with a 120-credit Bachelor of Science in Software Development, you?ll be skilled in the three tiers of most multi-level IS environments: the database that supports the information, the application programs that process the information, and the Web pages that are used to collect the information and apply it back to the user. You?ll develop a solid understanding of each of these tiers and how they interact. In Champlain?s Software Development program, you?ll learn the languages you?ll need- C++, Java, C#, HTML, Javascript and others - to develop entire systems. You?ll also take courses in database development and management, Systems Analysis & Design, and Application Security.
