The Associate of Science in Information Systems degree program is designed to prepare students for entry-level IT positions and for transfer to a four-year degree program focusing on information technology. This is accomplished by combining a strong general education component with core requirements in programming, database design, networking, and information systems analysis and design. The objectives of this degree program are to provide the student with a well-rounded education through the study of mathematics, natural sciences, social science, humanities, and communication, enable students to develop analytical and critical thinking and interpersonal skills applicable to real-world problems, and to develop the skills needed. Graduates will be able to apply fundamental systems analysis, concepts and strategies; analyze, design, and implement solutions to business problems; create and test systems solutions for business problems; and demonstrate project management skills.
